Chef Meyjitte Boughenout has won a cache of awards in Australia and overseas. Meyjitte trained in Michelin Star rated properties in Europe. He earned two Michelin Stars at Restaurant Scholteshos in Belgium before coming to Australia in 1996. Meyjitte worked in Sydney from 1996 to 2001.
He then bought Franklin Manor at Strahan on Tasmania’s west coast. Meyjitte’s sensational cuisine enticed food lovers to drive four hours west of Hobart. Diners were amazed and impressed to find a gourmet retreat so far off the beaten track.
