Absynthe has placed the Gold Coast on the international culinary map with a new concept in dining.
Food lovers have become addicted to Absynthe since the restaurant opened in December 2005. Gourmets soon discovered Absynthe in front of the Q1 residential tower on the corner of Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Clifford Street and Hamilton Avenue, Surfers Paradise.
Chef and restaurateur Meyjitte Boughenout earned two Michelin Stars as executive chef at Restaurant Scholteshos in Belgium. In Australia he has created a delightful dining experience for local people, intrastate, interstate and international visitors.
Meyjitte’s contemporary French-Australian cuisine excites the palate and satisfies the appetite. A selection of more than 1000 wines from around the world is guaranteed to impress connoisseurs.
Absynthe’s captivating a la carte menu is served in tandem with a seven-course degustation menu at dinner from Monday to Thursday.
The Journey in to Taste degustation menu may be ordered with the sommelier’s selection of accompanying wines but diners are welcome to indulge in wines chosen from the main list.
Friday and Saturday evenings are reserved for degustation dining and the a la carte menu is not available.
Absynthe serves lunch on Friday only. Diners may order a la carte or the $50 two-course special.
Corporate catering and special events may be arranged.
